Making your marriage better in 2021:

better

One of the great things about a new year is the opportunity to dream and plan for something better in the year to come.

It might be that goal to get fit & healthy, or plans to travel. It could be to get closer to your wife & kids, change that mindset or perhaps a spiritual goal.

Whatever it is, knowing your ‘why’ is so important to your success because it will inspire you to be disciplined and give you a much better result. If you know ‘why’ you want to do something, the ‘how’ is easy.

A healthy marriage is definitely a goal worth pursuing, because who wants their home to be unhappy, right?

In a great marriage, there is love, laughter, unity, good communication, and yes, conflict.

But a good marriage doesn’t just happen, you need to invest time & thoughtfulness into it.

So spend time setting your goals, but don’t forget your marriage.

Ask yourself a few hard questions:

Where do I need to grow in my marriage? What do I need to do more of, what do I need to do less of? What frustrations in the marriage do I need to take responsibility for? Do I need to let go of some hurt or disappointment in the past? How can I demonstrate love & respect to my partner? What do I need to do to instil fun, laughter and intimacy into my marriage?

Even if you are the only one with goals for your marriage, be encouraged, it only takes a small shift to move your marriage from an ‘average’ to a ‘great’.

Because love is contagious!

There was an old song I used to listen to which I loved, and the words were “It only takes a spark to get a fire going”…

Although you can’t change your partner, you can influence them, which just might create the spark that is needed to change focus, draw hearts and reignite that lovin’ feeling again.

Your success lies in your choices, your priorities and your mindset.

I’m believing for your best year ever! – fiona
